Lisore de Coray Noble orphan, she lives a secluded existence in the family estate to escape her brother's intended designs for her. Intuitive as well as instinctive, she consecrates herself to her passion for Nature and its secrets, and she is devoted to music. |
Thésilée Friend of Lisore, this former nursemaid becomes a lady's companion. She has worked in service of the Coray for forty years. Very attached to Lisore, whom she considers as her own daughter, she watches her well-being and teaches her knowledge, introducing her to essential wisdom. She supports Lisore in her quest for freedom. |
Pierre « Pierrot » Fredouillard Friend of Almonis. A young middle-class person, the descendant of a glorious serviceman's lineage, he’s a soldier assigned to guarding the castle of Montmissac and aims at receiving honors. Of a licentious character, he occasionally tends towards an extreme and coarse attitude. Both brotherly and egocentric, he cannot bear loneliness. |
