Almonis and Lisore : synopsis

In the heart of the XVIIth century, a young poet collides with fate, setting him on a path which he does not recognize as his own. He will have to face great ordeals, deceit and despair. Nevertheless, he will be struck with love when he meets the Muse he did not dare to dream of...

Spring 1667, the southwest of France.

Although a descendant from a long lineage of servicemen, Almonis lives only for poetry and escapes constantly into his idyllic universe. The tragic death of his younger brother will drive him, in spite of himself, to enlist in what he loathes: a military career. Torn, he will leave his native village for a dark road towards the unknown.

He will cross paths with some colorful characters and against all odds, what was to be only a resting place for his recruitment will turn out to be a place of resurrection. Love, that he had always sublimated, will be embodied in the features of Lisore, an orphan of noble lineage under her brother’s guardianship, who refuses the constraints of her standing and shares the poet’s ideals. This fiery-willed young lady will initiate him into the fever of passion, and awaken in him an original strength unknown until then. From then on, they shall fight bitterly for their dawning freedom.

Will their absolute faith be enough to preserve them from their fates?
